Sonny Tai is the CEO of Actuate, a New York-based AI Tech Startup. He was born in Taiwan and grew up in South Africa, then moved to the US with his family to get away from gun violence in South Africa a year before 9/11.
Galvanized by the attacks on his adoptive country, Sonny joined the Marines and served for nearly a decade in the reserves and active duty before leaving the Marine Corps to attend business school at the University of Chicago before starting Actuate.
